The Ram and Male Goat (BD27)

               'Book of Daniel'

Mede-Persian Empire
Dan 8:1, 3, 20 In the third year of the reign of King Belshazzar a vision appeared to me—to me, Daniel—after the one that appeared to me the first time... Then I lifted my eyes and saw, and there, standing beside the river, was a ram which had two horns, and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher one came up last.
   The second vision was given during the time of King Belshazzar, the last king of the Babylonian empire. This ram, representing the Mede-Persian empire, was prophesied to conquer and replace the Babylonian empire.
   Dan 8:20 "The ram which you saw, having the two horns—they are the kings of Media and Persia."

Alexander and Grecian Empire
Dan 8:5, 8 And as I was considering, suddenly a male goat came from the west, across the surface of the whole earth, without touching the ground; and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes...Therefore the male goat grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward the four winds of heaven.
   Alexander the Great (male goat) from Greece was so powerful that he annihilated the Mede-Persian empire. Within a short period of 11 years, his empire expanded to Greece, Persia, Egypt and India. Unfortunately, he was without a descendent to succeed him.
   After the death of Alexander the Great, the Grecian Empire was broken up into four kingdoms under the control of each General.
1. Greece and Macedonia
Gen. Cassander took control of Greece and Macedonia;
2. Turkey
Gen. Lysimachus took control of Thrace and most of Asia Minor;
3. Southern kingdom
Gen. Ptolemy took control of Egypt, Israel and Petra.
4. Northern kingdom
Gen. Seleucus took control of Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon (former Persian Empire).
   Dan 8:21-22 And the male goat is the kingdom of Greece. The large horn that is between its eyes is the first king. As for the broken horn and the four that stood up in its place, four kingdoms shall arise out of that nation, but not with its power.

The Last Days' Antichrist
Dan 8:23-25 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors have reached their fullness, a king shall arise, having fierce features, who understands sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not by his own power; he shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive; He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. Through his cunning he shall cause deceit to prosper under his rule; and he shall exalt himself in his heart. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without human means."
   Surprisingly, from the historical events of the Grecian Empire which was more than 2,200 years ago, his following prophecies were for the last days only.
   Note :- The prophecies of Daniel concerning the conquerors of Israel were from the Babylonian to the Grecian empires only.
   Daniel prophesied that in the last days, the Endtime Antichrist will come out from one of these four Grecian kingdoms.
   2 Thess 2:3-5 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
