Arise, To Your Inheritance (BD80)

        'Book of Daniel'

Dan 12:13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”
What are the inheritances of Daniel and Peter the Apostle?

Peter judging 12 Israeli Tribes
Mat 19:27-28 Then Peter answered and said to Him, “See, we have left all and followed You. Therefore, what shall we have?” So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
This means that Peter (including all those who have forsaken all to follow our Lord and keep His words faithfully) will sit on the throne in heaven judging the 12 Israeli tribes. These 12 tribes include Moses, Joseph, King David, King Solomon, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, etc., who will be judged by godly Christians (overcomers).
Not only are the disciples of Jesus (who can enter the kingdom of heaven) greater than the faithful Jews, but they are greater than Abel, Noah, Seth, etc. (born of woman)
Mat 11:11  “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he."

Why is this possible?
In Christ Jesus, Christians have a higher calling.

1. Jews own 90% whereby Christians being stewards of God own nothing.
Acts 2:42-45  And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need.

2. An Eye for an Eye
Mat 5:38  “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’
A Jew can take revenge but a Christian turns the other cheek.
Mat 5:39  But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also.

3. Hate your enemies
Mat 5:43  “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’"
Jews were only the people of God and they can hate their enemies. Christians who forgive and love their enemies are the sons of God.
Mat 5:44-45a  “But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven..."

4. Love Your Brethren
Matthew 5:46  "For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same?"
Jews love those who love them but Christians lay down their lives for the brethren.
1 John 3:16  By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

God's love for Men
Though God is One, He reveals Himself to men as the triune Godhead of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, so that mankind can learn from Him how to be a good and faithful father (God in the OT), an obedient son (Jesus) and a godly and effective helper (Holy Spirit).
We thank God that at the cross, both Jews and Gentiles were given the same opportunity to His grace. Whoever believes the Gospel of Christ is saved has everlasting life. He then becomes a child of God.

Gospel of Christ
1. God is One who reveals to men as the triune Godhead.
2. Jesus was the Son of God (Word made flesh)
3. He was born of a virgin
4. He suffered (chastised for our healings)
5. He was crucified for our redemption
6. On the third day, He rose from the dead
7. He makes every believer to become a born again Christian by giving him the Holy Spirit of redemption.

Warning
Gal 5:4  You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.
